Dear Charter Oak-Ute Community and Families,
I am sure you are aware, there was an incident that happened at Perry High School this morning that was of a violent nature. While all of the information has not been disclosed, our thoughts are with the Perry community at this time.
We have been in close contact with law enforcement. This situation was an isolated instance, but we also want to assure you that safety of our students, staff, and faculty are of the utmost importance.
We know this news is hard for children to process, which we have not disclosed information to our students. If your student is struggling with any of this, our school counselor and administration are available and ready to assist as needed. If you feel your student needs any assistance please contact us and we will help and give them support.
If you have questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact the school. Thank you and we are here to help in any way we can.
It's time for our weekly Staff Spotlight, where we take time to introduce one of our amazing staff members to you, our community. We hope you enjoy getting to know us a little better. Today we introduce the wonderful Ms. Megan Ellerbeck!
She is our amazing 1st grade teacher. She really enjoys teaching the 1st grade and she says she wouldn’t want it any other way. This is her 2nd year here at Charter Oak- Ute and come this spring she will be coaching the Bobcats on to victory as our newest Jr. High track coach.
What she loves most about working here are the students and the staff. She feels it is a friendly environment all around. Advice she would give to anyone just starting their career here is to “Be positive.” When stopping in the cafeteria she shares that her favorite school meal is Walking Tacos. Yum!
Over winter break Megan got engaged to her fiancée Josh Maack and she is looking forward to planning their wedding! In her free time, she enjoys going on walks with her dog, Cash. She says she loves doing anything outdoors.
Charter Oak-Ute and MVAO will be 2 hours late on January 3, 2024 due to dense fog. Thank you and stay safe.
Merry Christmas!!
