It's that time of year again. Parent Teacher Conferences are right around the corner on October 23rd and 24th from 4-7:30. Be on the look out for sign up sheets in your child's backpack. Please return them no later than end of day on Oct. 16th.

It's time for our weekly Staff Spotlight, where we take time to introduce one of our amazing staff members to you, our community. We hope you enjoy getting to know us a little better.
Today we introduce Mr. Chris Wood. He is our incredible K-8 Art teacher as well as 6-8 Computers & Industrial Tech instructor. He has called CO-U home for around 15 years. Previously he split his time between Boyer Valley and Charter Oak-Ute teaching high school shop. This changed when the high school moved to Mapleton. Now he is exclusively at CO-U in his current role.
All the staff appreciate different things about their job here. In Chris’s case, he loves the sense of Family among the staff and students. He stated, “I have taught in many schools, different sizes, states and locations, CO-U is one of the best places I have ever taught.”
Chris’s family includes his wife, Julie, his 4 kids, all graduated high school and his 2 grandkids ages 5 and 2 years old. After school hours he loves spending time with his family, traveling and camping.

Congrats to our 3rd-5th grade Bobcats of the week! They are Cole Dorale, Peyton Kropf, and Axton Rosenau! Great job kids!

Our 2nd grade class picked out leaves and made hand trees as a fun Friday craft!

Fourth graders worked really hard to be able to describe how our emotions and thoughts are connected to our actions. Here they are working on switching the unhelpful thoughts, emotions, and actions to helpful ones!

It's the perfect fall day for playing in leaves!

CO-U JH Lady Cats fought hard yesterday against Ar-We-Va. Each set was a nail biter. Both the 7th and 8th grade girls rose to the challenge and gave it everything they had. The 8th grade girls came up just a little short (1-2) after 3 suspense filled sets. The 7th graders dug deep and pulled out the win (2-1) for their final home game of the season. Way to go Lady Cats!

When time allows, Mrs. Green's 2nd graders end the day with play-doh and listening to a podcast. They are listening to "Six Minutes" which is a short mystery podcast that ends each episode with a cliffhanger leaving the students wondering "what will happen next?"....

It's time for our weekly Staff Spotlight, where we take time to introduce one of our amazing staff members to you, our community. We hope you enjoy getting to know us a little better.
Today we introduce Mrs. Jessi Jepsen. She is our amazing 5th Grade teacher. She began her teaching career at CO-U back in 2014, which means she has dedicated 9 years here. She has maintained her role in 5th grade that entire time. Additionally she has been a mentor for a 2nd year teacher and is currently a member of our PBIS team, helping to promote positive behavior in school.
Some of the things Jessi loves most about working here are the wonderful children and their families. She also enjoys the staff being so accessible and working together for the benefit of our students and families. When asked for advice she would give to new staff she stated “Seek to learn and not know. Everything changes and the ability to roll with change is essential.” When eating Hot Lunch in the cafeteria, her favorites are Chicken Alfredo and Crispitos.
After school hours, Jessi enjoys spending time with her family. She has been married to her husband, Fred, for 18 years and has 2 amazing kids, Tajel (14) and Sofia (9). They enjoy popcorn movie nights, bonfires with smores, and cattle shows. When she has some free time, she also enjoys scrapbooking and anything with friends and family to make memories.

The last and final day for dressing up was bobcat pride day!! All of our students did amazing showing their bobcat pride!
