We had the pleasure of welcoming Parker "Basketball" Jones in for two presentations today! He did such a great job of talking with our students about being kind to others and trying even when things are hard.

Spring Book Fair! Buy One Get One!
8th grade parents! Mrs. Snyder needs you help for our last bulletin board! Student Council had the idea to put toddler/baby pictures up of those that will be graduating from our building next month! If you could please email your picture to Mrs. Snyder that would be greatly appreciated. Mrs. Snyder's email is mcrall@co-u.net! Mrs Snyder is also needing four year high school plans and registration for MVAOCOU still turned in. If she gets all of the registration sheets, four year plans, and baby pictures in before the last week of school Mrs Snyder will buy pizza for the 8th grade class. However, she needs this all of the requirements from everyone!

SHOUTOUT to the CO-U track and field team for their performances last night in Woodbine! The throwers had a strong night with Ella Staley taking 2nd in the shot put and Claire Schumacher placing 5th. Claire also claimed 2nd in the discus throw! On the track, the boys distance medley relay of Logan Trucke, Xavier Folk, Landon Rosberg and Ben Meseck took 4th. Audrey Hadden sprinted to 3rd in the 100 meter dash, and both 4 x 200 relays took home ribbons with Landon Kiepe, Cashton Wilcox, Tavian Feller and Brayden Koch placing 4th and Ella Staley, Cheyenne Vogt, Claire Schumacher and Avery Funkhouser winning with a new school record in that event! Landon Rosberg took 6th in the open 200, Avery Funkhouser placed 5th in both the 100 and 200 meter hurdles. Our relay teams continued to be a force on the track with both Bobcat 4 x 100 meter relays placing; Xavier Folk, Cohen McCartney, Landon Rosberg and Ben Meseck placed 5th and Abby Cripps, Jackie Factor, Audrey Hadden and Ella Staley placed 4th. To round out the night, in the last event, our girls 4 x 400 of Cheyenne Vogt, Claire Schumacher, Liza Klinker and Audrey Hadden took 5th place. The girls team finished 5th place overall! GREAT PERFORMANCE BOBCATS! The teams will have a week to prepare for our next event, in Early, Friday 4/19. It'll be worth the trip to come out and support your favorite Bobcat! With fewer teams and smaller schools attending, you won't have to wait long between Bobcat events! GO TEAM!!!

Something exciting is happening in both 2nd grade classrooms. Thanks to Nicole Behrendt at the Crawford County Extension, we get to spend the next 21 days watching chicken eggs incubate and hatch! We cannot wait to experience this in our classrooms.

It's time for our weekly Staff Spotlight, where we take time to introduce one of our amazing staff members to you, our community. We hope you enjoy getting to know us a little better. Today we introduce the wonderful Ms. Crysta Gierstorf! She is our wonderful English Language Arts and Reading Instructor for Middle School. She has been a full time teacher at CO-U since January. During the 22-23 school year she was here as part of her college coursework as well as being a substitute. She Student Taught here this Fall and in January moved to full time. Some of the things she loves most about working here are, the kindness of the other teachers and staff. She states it has really helped make her first year more enjoyable. When asked what advice she would give to someone just starting their career here, she stated “Ask your questions! Everyone is more than willing to help you.” When stopping by the cafeteria she says that her favorite school lunch is pizza. Outside of school she enjoys hanging out with her loved ones. This includes her cat Sammie as well as spending lots of time with her parents and grandma. In her free time she enjoys reading, playing video games and watching documentaries with Sammie always laying with her.
